The broader Winters community includes unincorporated pristine farmland and rolling hills with orchards, vineyards, and row crops. The City is seeking a collaborative, approachable, and team oriented candidate to serve as the next City Manager. The ideal candidate must have the ability to use tact, initiative, and independent judgment and should have knowledge of principles and practices of public administration, budgeting, organization, management, and personnel administration. Candidates with a proven track record of building relationships, communicating effectively, and building trust are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate has the demonstrated ability to analyze situations and people accurately and quickly, and adopt an effective course of action. Fiscal stability and economic development are key priorities, and the new City Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying potential revenue enhancement and cost containment strategies. Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is highly desirable.

The current salary for the City Manager is $194,250. Salary placement for the new City Manager will depend on qualifications and experience. The City also offers a competitive benefits package.
