Under general direction from the City Manager and Assistant City Manager, the Public Works Director manages the activities and operations of the Public Works Department including the primary divisions of maintenance and facilities and engineering. The City’s maintenance and facilities division oversees facilities, fleet, landscape maintenance districts, solid waste, and a number of environmental programs. The City’s engineering division is comprised of both a Capital Improvement team as well as land management that oversees public works construction, traffic engineering, and NPDES among other things. The City of Rialto is seeking a collaborative, forward-thinking professional that can enhance the quality of life for everyone in the City of Rialto to serve as the Public Works Director. The City is looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills who is comfortable engaging directly with and presenting to the City Council. The ideal candidate will provide effective leadership while managing and directing a comprehensive public works program and a variety of program activities.
The monthly salary range for the Public Works Director is $16,034 to $21,485; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
