Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Public Works, the Principal Civil Engineer performs professional engineering work for the design, investigation, and construction of street and other public works projects within local, state, and federal guidelines. The City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented leader as its new Principal Civil Engineer. Candidates must have knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering, modern survey and testing procedures, street and drainage design, and engineering mathematics. An in-depth understanding of federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations including civil engineering laws and regulations is crucial to this role as well as the ability to ensure project compliance within these guidelines. The incumbent must have the ability to work cooperatively with other City employees, exhibit integrity, and display ethical behavior.
The annual salary range for the Principal Engineer is $120,568 to $157,314; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
