The Human Services Department promotes a vibrant community through services that empower individuals, strengthen families, encourage self-sufficiency, enhance neighborhoods and foster a high quality of life. The Department’s nationally and internationally recognized programs support thousands of residents throughout their life course, from infants to elders. The City of Fremont is seeking a strong administrator with excellent communication skills to serve as the next Human Services Director. A team player who is politically astute with the ability to develop cooperative working relationships is essential. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of the goals, objectives, philosophies, programs, agencies, and processes associated with human services delivery and administration. Qualified candidates typically possess a Bachelor’s Degree in public/business administration, sociology, or a related field, along with five (5) years of progressively responsible experience directing a human resource/service program, of which two (2) years involved supervision of professional staff.

The annual salary range for the Human Services Director is $234,780 to $316,680; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
