The City of Moreno Valley is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and customer service-based leader as the new Community Development Director. Candidates with experience in city planning, building enforcement, code enforcement, and animal services are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a business mindset, possessing proven experience with organization, administration, budget, and personnel management, with a demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualified candidates possess the equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in urban planning, public administration, regional planning or a related field or equivalent related work experience. A master’s degree is highly desirable. At least ten (10) years of progressively responsible planning and administrative experience in urban planning and/or community development, including five (5) years of experience in a management capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid California driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle insurance policy is required. The annual salary range for the Community Development Director is $153,732.80 - $244,836.80; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
