The Desert Healthcare District was created in 1948 to serve residents within a 457-square-mile area of the Coachella Valley. Areas served include Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City, Thousand Palms, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Indio, Coachella and other unincorporated communities. The Desert Healthcare District’s mission is to achieve optimal health at all stages of life for all District residents. It is funded primarily through a portion of Riverside County property tax collected in the Coachella Valley, as well as public and private donations and lease revenue. The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization in collaborative partnerships with the Board of Directors. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization and ensures its overall successful long-term operations; assures that the organization makes consistent and timely progress in achieving its mission and targets programmatic impact.

The Desert Healthcare District & Foundation is seeking a collaborative, transparent, and experienced candidate to serve as the next Chief Executive Officer. The ideal candidate must offer a proven track record of mentorship and teambuilding, along with the capacity to excel at influencing and leading an organization towards positive growth. The successful candidate must be politically astute and diplomatic, with a customer service mindset. Public agency experience along with the ability to speak fluent English, and Spanish is highly desirable. Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a similar area of study from an accredited institution, or the equivalent, along with seven (7) years of prior executive level experience as a successful leader of a healthcare organization. A Master’s degree is preferred.

The annual salary range for the Chief Executive Officer is $250,000 to $280,000 and placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience. The District also offers an excellent benefits package.
