Detailed Description : PDF

Placer County is a community characterized by a healthy and diverse economy, attractive business environment, and residents who benefit from high-quality education, safety, and healthcare infrastructure. Communities throughout Placer County rank highly for livability, with the City of Roseville named one of the best places to live in the United States by Livability.com. Beautiful scenery, a rich history, year-round recreation – and Lake Tahoe – need we say more? Those are just some of the reasons more than 400,000 people call Placer County home (Auburn, Colfax, Lincoln, Loomis, Rocklin, and Roseville) and hundreds of thousands more come to visit each year.

Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA) is a regional agency established in 1978 through a joint exercise of powers agreement between Placer County and the cities of Lincoln, Rocklin, and Roseville (Member Agencies) to own and operate a regional recycling facility and sanitary landfill with an organics/green waste composting facility. WPWMA has a contract operator who provides the daily operations of the facility. WPWMA staff provide oversight of the Contract Operator, operate the scale houses, and provide engineering, planning, financial management, and administration for WPWMA.
