Detailed Description : PDF

Located in California’s East Bay Region, Livermore is a thriving city with a collaborative and community-centered spirit. It is one of California’s oldest wine regions, home to two national research labs, and even has its own element: Livermorium. There are fountains where children play, superb libraries, tech maker spaces, farmers’ markets, a dynamic performing arts community, and even an annual rodeo. Livermore is best defined by its strong community spirit. City culture fosters this with a willingness to listen, collaborate, and work together to accomplish goals. In 2021, that spirit was rewarded as Livermore received the All-America City Award, one of ten cities nationwide and the only California city to earn this award. The City of Livermore is seeking a diplomatic, collaborative, and team-oriented leader to serve as the next City Engineer. Candidates who have a strong knowledge of laws and regulatory codes related to governing land development will be competitive. The ideal candidate will stay current on the changing trends and technology within the engineering field. Qualified candidates should have six (6) years of experience performing progressively responsible professional civil engineering work with a California registration which includes two (2) years of experience in supervising engineering staff engaged in a variety of public works and private development projects including design, construction inspection, transportation, development, and review. Competitive candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university. The annual salary range for the City Engineer is $169,143.72 - $211,429.68; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience. Relocation assistance offered.
