The City of Fresno, CA is located in the heart of the state in the fertile San Joaquin Valley. The City of Fresno is a full-service city which functions under a “Strong Mayor” form of government. The Mayor is elected every four years through a citywide election and appoints the City Manager.

The Deputy City Manager (DCM) is a member of the City Manager’s team and reports directly to the City Manager. The Deputy City Manager position establishes objectives, work-plans and standards to implement city-wide short and long-term goals as established by the City Manager; provides support in contract administration and compliance, as well as participating in the development and administration of the budget; and serves as project manager for various city-wide projects and programs. The DCM is distinguished from the Assistant City Manager in that it is not responsible for supervision of staff or city departments. The City of Fresno is seeking a collaborative and team-oriented Deputy City Manager to join the City Manager’s executive team. The ideal candidate is politically astute and understands how to navigate a political environment with the ability to concisely present information to the City Manager, Council, and the public.

The annual salary range for the Deputy City Manager is $115,056 - $192,888; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
