The Director must be a tech savvy, global thinker who can bring new ideas that address the hopes of all City residents. The incoming Director will have a firm grasp on bringing forward economic development and new opportunities for the Department. Candidates should have thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of economic development as it relates to Park and Recreation, budget analysis, reporting, and strategic planning. Knowledge of emergency management, mentoring, youth programming, administration, and budget preparation is essential. Competitive candidates will possess a Bachelor`s degree in a related field, and should have five (5) years of management experience involving Parks and Recreation program planning, development, fiscal management, and administration or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Possession of a Master’s degree is highly desirable. Qualified candidates must be able to maintain a valid Nevada Class C license within thirty days of hiring. Candidates must also possess within ninety days of employment an Incident Command System (ICS) 100/200 and ICS 300 as soon as available.

The annual salary range for the Parks and Recreation Director is $109,782 - $164,674; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
