The California State Association of Counties’ (CSAC) represents county governments before the California Legislature, federal government, and administrative agencies. As a member of the CSAC Executive Team, the Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Responsibilities include overseeing the administrative functions of the organization, providing leadership and direction related to strategic planning, office culture, communication and all things related to functioning as a high performing organization. CSAC is seeking a collaborative and team oriented Chief Operating Officer who can contribute to the development and implementation of sound association management principles and practices. The ideal candidate is a strategic and innovative thinker, with a proven record of making effective decisions. The new Chief Operating Officer should be an effective leader that drives results.
Qualified individuals typically possess a Bachelors Degree and ten (10) years of experience in senior management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in this brochure. A Masters Degree is preferred. The annual salary range for the Chief Operating Officer is $200,000 - $300,000; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
