There are 48 parks and 50+ miles of paved recreational trails to provide ample opportunities to enjoy Folsom’s stunning natural setting. The City is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and collaborative Parks and Recreation Director. The ideal candidate is a visionary that will encourage growth and development among staff. A fiscally prudent leader with proven professionalism and strong implementation skills is desired. The successful candidate is seasoned and trustworthy, and has a track record of excellent mentorship. Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Parks and Recreation Administration, or a closely related field. Candidates should also possess five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible administrative or management experience in parks administration or general municipal administration that includes responsibility for budgeting, finance, program planning, promotional activities, operations, and/or maintenance functions. Possession of a Master’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, or a closely related field is highly desirable.
The annual salary range for the Parks and Recreation Director is $150,000 to $190,000. Placement within this range is based on qualifications and experience. The City also offers a generous benefits package.
