The Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District (LGVSD) lies between central San Rafael and Novato, with wastewater treatment and recycling facilities located on over 400 acres adjacent to San Pablo Bay. Today, LGVSD serves 32,000 customers in the northern San Rafael area and manages approximately 105 miles of collection lines. Other aspects include solar generation, energy recovery, and a garbage franchise encompassing the unincorporated areas within the LGVSD service area. The District is seeking a collaborative, straightforward and experienced General Manager. The ideal candidate has a calm demeanor and a strong background in management. The new General Manager will be a confident leader that develops good rapport with staff. The ideal candidate will have the ability to foster regional collaborations to meet new regulatory challenges that benefit the environment and community at large. The successful candidate will be a capable, consensus-building individual with good communication skills, tact and administrative knowledge.
Any combination of education and experience that could provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would qualify. The candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, five (5) of which should be in a supervisory or managerial position with water, wastewater, or similar public agency. A Professional Engineering Registration in the State of California or Grade V Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate issued by the State of California State Water Resources Control Board, is highly desirable.
