The Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency (SCV Water) was created on January 1, 2018, through the merger of the three water agencies in the Santa Clarita Valley and serves a population of 286,000 through 75,000 retail water connections. SCV Water is seeking an exceptionally qualified and talented Director of Water Resources to lead and direct staff to perform the full scope of water resources activities. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the theories, procedures, and best practices in water resources management in addition to local, state, and federal laws and regulations that govern SCV Water’s activities. The successful candidate will possess superb communication and interpersonal skills. Any combination of education and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for a Director of Water Resources is qualifying. Typically, candidates demonstrate these qualifications through a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in natural or physical sciences, civil engineering, urban planning, or another related field. Additionally, candidates typically possess five (5) years of senior management experience performing professional water resource planning, with at least two (2) years at the supervisory level. The salary range for this position is $183,290 - $223,288 annually; placement within this range will be dependent on qualifications. Compensation also includes a comprehensive benefits package.
