The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a strategic and politically savvy Deputy Director, Planning and Development with excellent organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be service minded, with a customer service approach and a collaborative mindset. A self-starter with strong conceptualizations skills, with the ability to problem solve and make decisions is sought. The typical candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public or business administration, engineering, architecture, urban planning, or a related field. Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible professional urban planning experience including five (5) years of management and supervisory responsibility is desired. Candidates must have or have the ability to obtain a valid class C California driver’s license. The annual salary range for this position is $138,568 to $207,852 and placement within this range will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
