Napa, California, is located 50 miles northeast of San Francisco in the beautiful Napa Valley. This world-renowned valley runs through more than 30 miles of agricultural land speckled with hundreds of wineries and thousands of other businesses which support the vitality of an active community. The City of Napa is the business and residential hub of the Valley with a population of approximately 78,000.

The City of Napa is seeking an experienced finance professional with significant leadership experience in a diverse and complex organization. A dynamic and proactive individual with a strong commitment to customer service and a history of applying innovative solutions to financial, programmatic, and operational challenges will be valued. The City desires an executive with outstanding interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all City departments.

A typical way to obtain the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities would be: four (4) years of increasingly responsible administrative experience in governmental financial planning and administration, including considerable experience in a supervisory capacity coupled with a BA Degree with major work in public or business administration with an emphasis on Finance; a related Master`s degree is preferred.

The annual salary range for the Finance Director position is $159,699-$192,959 (plus an additional 3% increase effective December 25, 2021); placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications.
