The City of Cathedral City is seeking a smart, savvy, experienced administrator to serve as its new Assistant City Manager. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, politically astute, and an effective project manager. He/she will be a visionary leader with a team mentality to develop and mentor staff. A strong candidate will be solution oriented and possess a strong background in city operations. As a representative of the City, the incumbent will ensure that a high level of customer service is provided to internal and external stakeholders in a positive, collaborative, and professional manner. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is highly desirable. Candidates must also have six (6) years of increasingly responsible administrative and analytical experience in a public sector setting. Experience in working with varied public agencies and with citizens’ organizations is also desirable. The annual salary range for the Assistant City Manager is $182,557.04 - $238,961.18 (eff. 7/1/21); placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
