The Placer Hills Fire Protection District is seeking an experienced fire professional, proven leader, and forward-thinking strategist to serve as its Fire Chief. Qualified candidates will possess ten (10) years of progressively responsible assignments in the fire and EMS service, at least three (3) of which must be as a Battalion Chief and/or higher position. Emergency Medical Technician status may be required within the first year of employment and as a condition of employment. The Board of Directors reserves the right to accept any combination of experience, training, and/or equivalences as qualifying. The District is staffed by a career Fire Chief, Part-time Fire Marshal, Battalion Chiefs, Captains, Engineers, Limited Term firefighters, and several part-time employees who provide fire protection, prevention, emergency medical, and related emergency services to over 12,500 residents in over 4,200 homes and light commercial buildings. In addition to fire fighting and emergency medical service training and experience, the successful candidate should have experience in personnel supervision and management of both full-time paid and volunteer staff, i.e. performance evaluations, staffing, disciplinary methods, etc.
