Formed in 1921, the Nevada Irrigation District (NID) is a California special district organized primarily to supply water for irrigation, municipal, domestic, and industrial purposes within its 287,000-acre boundaries. NID is headquartered in Grass Valley, California, a picturesque and historic California Gold Rush town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, 60 miles northeast of Sacramento. NID’s Board of Directors is seeking a visionary and collaborative individual to serve as the new General Manager. Well-qualified candidates will have at least 10 years of increasingly responsible administrative and management experience that involves planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising programs related to a public utility. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, engineering, or a related field is desired. NID can offer the selected candidate a multi-year contract with excellent benefits, dependent on the qualifications and experience.
