Located in Southern California at the high point between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Victorville is the leading City for both industry and retail in the High Desert region. Victorville is a growing, vibrant community that is home to approximately 126,000 residents and some of the area’s largest employers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, employee health and welfare has been Victorville’s greatest priority. As such, the City acted quickly to enact safety protocols and procedures to protect its workforce. The City of Victorville is seeking a Director of Finance to join their united and dynamic team. The incoming Director of Finance will be a proven leader with strong initiative; excellent interpersonal and team building skills and the ability to plan, organize, and direct the operations and activities of the Finance Department. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s Degree in business or public administration with emphasis in finance, accounting, or closely related field; five (5) years of experience in government financial analysis and administration; and five (5) years of experience in a related responsible supervisory position. A Master’s degree and a certified public accountant certificate are highly desirable. The annual salary range for the incoming Director of Finance is $139,200 to $169,200; placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications.
