Fairfield, the heart of Solano County, is a growing community located halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento and close to Napa and Sonoma. It is bordered by farms and vineyards. With 25 parks, numerous bike trails and 2 golf courses, Fairfield is a great family community with 115,000 residents. The City of Fairfield is seeking an excellent communicator to serve as the Assistant City Manager (Community and Economic Development). The incoming Assistant City Manager must possess a strong leadership ability, work to develop a cohesive team, and build support for the City’s vision. Candidates must possess seven (7) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in planning, economic development, or a related field; this experience must include four (4) years of administrative and management responsibility. Experience in a public sector agency is highly desirable. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in city planning, economics, business, public administration, or other closely related field is required. The annual salary range for the incoming Community Development Director is $185,604-$241,284; placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
