Now in our third year of operation, the Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency (SCV Water) was created January 1, 2018 by combining the regional imported water wholesaler with the three largest retail water providers to more effectively manage resources and serve the people of the Santa Clarita Valley. The new SCV Water serves a population of 280,000 through 70,000 retail water connections and covers approximately 195 square miles or 124,000 acres. Population at build-out is estimated to be 420,000. SCV Water seeks a talented and experienced Chief Engineer with strong people skills to oversee the Agency’s engineering and construction inspection functions. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead and direct staff to perform the full scope of engineering services with patience and diplomacy. Qualified candidates will possess equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field; equivalent of eight years of increasingly responsible experience as a professional in the field of engineering, preferably in a water agency or other governmental sector, including four years of management experience; and registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California is required. The monthly salary range for the incoming Chief of Engineering is $14,610 - $17,801; placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications.
