The Community Development Department is focused on enhancing the quality of life in the community. Candidates must possess the equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning or a related field considered useful in City Planning; a master’s degree is highly desirable. A typical qualifying background would have eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in urban and environmental planning, and responsible experience in the administration of local government development or rehabilitation programs, including five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity. Experience in affordable housing is a desired. The compensation for Community Development Director is $162,360 - $191,328 annually, with the potential of an annual performance award, salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
