The Anaheim Police Department is seeking an innovative law enforcement professional to serve as the Department’s Deputy Chief of Police. At a minimum, candidates must possess ten (10) years of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience (as a sworn officer with powers of arrest), including three (3) years of senior level management responsibility in a comprehensive law enforcement agency, supplemented by a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice, police science, business administration, public administration, or a related field. The Deputy Chief of Police shall be a sworn officer with powers of arrest. Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice, public administration, or a related field and completion of POST Command College or FBI National Academy or comparable law enforcement executive training is highly desirable. The City of Anaheim provides an excellent compensation and benefits program. The annual salary range for the incoming Deputy Chief of Police is $173,655-$238,776; placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications.
