The City of Pico Rivera is a dynamic and thriving community of approximately 65,000 that offers opportunity to all who live, work, and relax in the City. The City Council is seeking a strong and experienced administrator and proven manager to provide effective leadership while coordinating the activities of a municipal organization. As the administrative head of the City, the City Manager oversees the day-to day operations of the City government, enforces City laws, and prepares and manages the City budget. The City Manager advises the City Council on matters that affect all aspects of City operations and recommends appropriate action that may involve legislation, fiscal matters, capital improvement, and other City policies. The ideal candidate must have a broad range of experience in municipal government. A candidate with experience in a variety of areas such as finance, economic and organizational development will be highly valued. The new City Manager should have a background in developing intergovernmental relations as well as relations between regional jurisdictions. A Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is highly desirable. The annual salary for the City Manager is open and dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the selected individual.
