Headquartered in the City of Ukiah, the mission of the Mendocino County Russian River Flood Control and Water Conservation Improvement District is to proactively manage the water resources of the upper Russian River for the benefit of the people and environment of Mendocino County. The District is now seeking a General Manager with expertise, seasoned professional judgment, and effective communication skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of and experience with California water rights, state & federal regulations & regulators, working with customers and other water agencies. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field and/or five (5) years of broad and extensive work in a management or administrative position in a private or public agency, preferably including administration of a water district is highly desirable. Experience in the field can be substituted for education on a year by year basis. Background should include experience working with an elected Board or Commission and responsibility for formulation and implementation of programs, budgets, and administrative operations. The annual salary range for this position is $105,000-$120,000. The actual salary will depend on the qualifications and experience of the individual selected.
