Executive Director
The San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) is a joint powers authority made up of representatives from 31 cities, three Los Angeles County Supervisorial Districts, and the three Municipal Water Districts located in the San Gabriel Valley to serve as a regional voice for its member agencies and to work to improve the quality of life for the more than 2 million residents living in the region. The SGVCOG is seeking enthusiastic and reliable candidates for the Executive Director position. This is an outstanding opportunity for a leader with a broad perspective and vision for the future of regional issues. Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for an Executive Director of a regional governmental entity that includes a capital projects function is qualifying. A typical candidate will possess the equivalent of ten (10) years of administrative or managerial experience in a public administration setting, including three (3) years as a city manager, assistant city manager, deputy city manager, county supervisor, deputy county supervisor, or executive director or assistant executive director of a governmental agency or professional governmental consulting firm. The qualified candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is highly desirable. The salary range for the Executive Director is competitive and negotiable, depending upon qualifications.
