Director of Finance
The City of Placentia (population 51,727) is a community of beautiful suburban homes, good schools, stately churches, wholesome recreation, and a growing Old Town District. The City is seeking a highly experienced and qualified financial professional to serve as the new Director of Finance. Candidates with a desire to lead Placentia’s finance team to meet the goals of the City Council, City Administrator, and the community are sought. The ideal candidate subscribes to the philosophy of continuous improvement, has tremendous initiative and drive, and demonstrates the highest-level character and ethical standards. A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties outlined above is graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a closely related field; eight (8) years of progressively responsible financial management and accounting experience, including three (3) or more years of supervisory and management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Possession of a Certified Public Accounting designation and/or Master’s degree is highly desirable. The annual salary range for the Director of Finance position is $137,166-$150,883; starting salary will be at the discretion of the City Administrator based upon experience and qualifications.
